Here we are again, on the brink of a brand new year, wondering where the heck the time has gone!
2014 has flown by, and looking back through photos for this post has got me feeling nostalgic. 😍
If you know me at all, you'll know that I have an unquenchable thirst for adventure. I'm someone who is passionate about living life full, whether I have the money to do so or not and looking back over this year has taught me a lot about what 'adventure' is.
I used to think that in order to have an adventurous life, I had to travel the world and never settle down into a job.
It appears though that, as I grow older, I'm beginning to understand a few things about the life that I want to lead. Perhaps i'm getting a little more nostalgic with age, but for me, 'adventure' has become less about 'being anywhere but here', and more about the people I get to do life with.
YES, I absolutely still want to see as much of the world as is humanly possible in one lifetime.
NO, I still haven't settled down into a lifelong career - (I honestly don't think I ever will).
But, if 2014 has taught me anything, it's that life isn't about those things. It's not about the money in your bank account, or the place on the map that you currently find yourself in. Life is a whole lot more satisfying when you understand that the adventure isn't always outside of where you are right now. More often than not, adventure doesn't look like stepping onto a plane to Peru, but more like stepping out of the door to the small adventures right on your doorstep.
But more than anything? It's about the people you share your life with.
I am privileged to say that I've been able to do, and see, so many incredible things in 2014. But as I look back over my year, I don't see the places I've been, I see the faces of my favourite people around me - seeing 'the world' with me just one small piece at a time.
As we enter 2015, I pray that you, too, will live a full life. Full of laughter, full of adventure, and full of friendship.
Happy New Year to you all!
